Northern Ireland only
Every trade and every job is in NI. We do not ship your enquiry to a builder in Devon to "match" you.
NI Trades is an independent Northern Ireland platform connecting homeowners with vetted local tradespeople. Named editor. Transparent methodology. No per-lead fees.
Finding a reliable tradesperson in Northern Ireland still mostly means asking around, hoping a Facebook group thread surfaces someone trustworthy, or paying premium rates to advertise on mainland-UK directories whose vetting standards are unclear and whose “leads” are sold to half a dozen trades at once.
NI homeowners deserved a directory built specifically for the local market - covering all 58 towns across the 11 statutory council districts, vetted properly at the point of application, free to post a job, and with a clear, honest set of rules about how listings work.
Good NI tradespeople deserved a platform that did not bleed them on per-lead fees, did not auction them off against five others, and did not own the customer relationship for the next ten years. That is what NI Trades is for, for homeowners and tradespeople equally.
Six honest differences between NI Trades and the platforms you already know.
We are not owned by any trade body, franchise group or large contractor. Our only customers are the homeowners and tradespeople who use the platform.
Your contact details are never published. Tradespeople only see your job description until you choose to connect with one of them.
Every trade that lists on NI Trades is checked at application stage. Customers must re-verify on the day of hire.
Vetting happens at application only. Insurance and credentials can lapse afterwards. Always re-verify directly with the tradesperson before any work or any money changes hands.
The platform is small on purpose. We name people publicly when they’re ready to be the public face of their role, rather than pad the page with stock-photo executives.
Mark is the digital content editor at NI Trades, based in Bangor. He commissions the editorial trade and homeowner guides on this site, edits every piece before it goes live, and is responsible for keeping the catalogue current, accurate and useful to Northern Irish tradespeople and homeowners. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Communication, Advertising and Marketing (CAM) from Ulster University.
Originally from Coleraine and now Belfast-based, Ruth runs the NI Trades social presence across Instagram and TikTok, telling the stories of the trades on the platform and connecting them with NI homeowners. Most of what you see from us on social was made by her.
We name individuals here as the team grows and each person is comfortable being public. Until then, the fastest way to reach the right person is hello@nitrades.co.uk.
