Pulled live from the NI Trades database every time this page loads. No vanity, no rounding up. If a number is zero we say zero, the platform is being honest with the trades who pay for it.
Pick your trade and town below. We’ll show you exactly how many other vetted trades in your category currently serve that area. Zero means you’d be the first listed, every homeowner posting that trade in that town would see only you. 1–3 means low competition. 4+ means an active market where being fastest to respond matters most.
Live coverage data, updated every page load. Click any gap or popular town to switch the panel.

NI Trades covers roughly 58 NI towns across 11 council districts. When you sign up you choose which councils you cover; your profile is only matched to jobs in those councils. Bigger dots = more active trades currently competing in that town. Click any town to see the live trade pool.
Many directories may list anyone who signs up. NI Trades runs application-stage checks before a listing goes live.
At application stage we ask every applicant to submit identity, public liability insurance certificate, two contactable references and any trade credentials relevant to the work they offer. Insurance and registrations can lapse afterwards, so homeowners are reminded to verify current cover directly before any work begins. If a complaint is reviewed and upheld, it’s logged on the listing. Three upheld complaints and the listing is automatically suspended.
For homeowners, that means trust. For you, it means your verified profile actually stands out, and your subscription pays for the system that keeps that difference real.

Three plans. Starter is free for the first 3 months — public profile, 6 work photos, 5 expressions of interest, and a daily digest of new jobs. Listed is £30/month — 10 photos, categorised portfolio with filter chips, custom cover photo behind your hero, Instagram feed integration (auto-refreshes hourly), unlimited responses, new-job notifications within 5 hours, and the verified badge. Featured is £55/month — everything in Listed plus a premium gold-bordered hero with company logo plaque, a hero video slot, unlimited photos, Featured Projects case studies, a pinned testimonial, the gold featured-member badge across the platform, and instant emails when matching jobs are posted. NI Trades is not currently VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay. Cancel any time, no contracts and no per-lead charges.
A flat monthly subscription from active trades. No per-lead fees, no commission on jobs you win, no booking fees, and no charges to homeowners. The whole platform is funded by trade subscriptions which is exactly why we keep the count of trades-per-job capped at 3, you compete with two others, not thirty.
Every open job on NI Trades accepts a maximum of three expressions of interest. Once three trades have responded the job stops accepting new responses. The homeowner then picks one of the three to hire. That is a much smaller field than you tend to see on other platforms, so your statistical hire rate is roughly 1 in 3, provided you respond before the cap fills. That makes daily activity worth a lot more here than on a per-lead site.
At application stage we check identity (photo ID), public liability insurance certificate, two contactable references, and any trade credentials relevant to the work offered (Gas Safe, NICEIC, OFTEC, etc.). These checks are application-stage only, insurance and registrations can lapse afterwards, so homeowners are reminded to verify current cover and credentials directly with the trade and the relevant register before any work begins. Full process is documented on our How we vet page.
Once your application is approved (typically 1–3 business days from receipt of documents and references), your profile is live and you receive in-platform notifications for jobs in your trade and area as they post. Many trades respond to their first matching job within hours of going live.
Never. NI Trades is not a payment processor. You agree fees and payment terms directly with the homeowner, written quote, deposit (if any), staged payments. The platform never holds funds, never takes commission and never sees your bank details.
When you express interest in a job, the homeowner sees your profile (business name, area, credentials, reviews, photos). When they hire you, they share their full name, phone and email directly so you can arrange the work.
Use the Coverage Gap Finder on this page. Pick your trade and town from the dropdowns and it shows exactly how many other vetted trades in your category currently serve that town. Zero means you would be the first listed, homeowners posting that trade in that town will see only you. 1–3 means low competition. 4+ means an active market where being fastest to respond matters most.
Verified reviews are tied to real hired jobs and are moderated. If a review is factually incorrect or breaches our review policy you can request a re-review through the admin team. Genuine negative feedback stays public, but it sits alongside every positive review you have collected, and homeowners read patterns not single data points.
Yes, cancel any time from your dashboard. Your profile stops appearing in category and search results immediately. We do not charge a cancellation fee, and your existing reviews remain on the platform. If you come back later you can reactivate without re-applying as long as your insurance and credential documents are still in date.
We cover all 58 NI towns from Belfast and Bangor to Enniskillen and Strabane, organised into the 11 statutory council districts. When you sign up you pick which councils you cover, your profile only matches jobs in those councils. You can change your coverage at any time from the dashboard.
Click "Apply to list your business" anywhere on this page or visit /signup/trade.
