Methodology

Ranges are indicative, compiled in 2026 from written quotes and pricing gathered from Northern Ireland tradespeople for the NI Trades pricing guides, cross-checked against published UK day-rate datasets with the consistent NI discount (roughly 10 to 20 per cent below GB mainland averages) applied. A day rate is a sanity check, not a price: a tradesperson’s real rate is cost plus overheads plus margin, and can legitimately sit above or below these bands depending on specialism, certification and demand.
